"Little" Venetian Inn Adds Blues

Brothers Curtis Band — Sat. Nov 8th

The tradition of fine dining that the Vitale family began at the venerable old Venetian Inn has now been transplanted in Oakdale at Vitale's Little Venetian Inn. Joe Vitale's daughter, Lisa Vitale-Strom and her husband Wade Strom represent the third generation to continue the family business.

More importantly for music lovers, Vitale's Little Venetian Inn has a lower level "Vine Bar" that now features live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 pm to close. Tonight The Mississippi Driftwood with Larry Hayes will be on hand. Saturday The Brothers Curtis Band (that's the full band) will be providing the beat to move your feet.

If you miss them on Saturday they will be appearing at Famous Dave's for Sunday Brunch from 10 am to 2 pm in their Brother Curtis Delta Duet configuration.

Blue Monday Jam Party at the Eagles Club, 7 pm

Willie Murphy's Blue Monday Jam at the Eagle's Club promises to be extra special this week because it falls on Willie's 65th birthday. GTCBMS honored Willie last month at the Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame as this year's "Blues Performer". If you somehow missed that event here's your chance to honor Willie again on his birthday.

Sage Market & Wine Bar, Mendota Heights

Live Music on Wednesday & Saturday Nights

Located in the Market Square Shopping Center at Hwy. 110 and Dodd Rd in Mendota Heights, the Sage Market and Wine Bar now features live acoustic jazz, folk, bluegrass, contemporary and blues music on Wednesday and Saturday nights. The Swamp Kings will be playing their "Spicy Cajun Boogie and Swampy Louisiana Blues" from 7 to 10 pm on Saturday, November 1st at the Sage.

Little Bobby & the Storm

13^th Annual Fargo Blues Fest, Aug. 15-16

Among the featured bands at this year's Fargo Blues Fest is Little Bobby & the Storm. Led by "Little" Bobby Houle(guitar/vocals) the band also includes Rod Bondy(guitar), Mike "Axe man"(bass), Dan Dahlin(drums), Glen Bowen(harp) and Sweet Paulie T(B3 organ).

Born on the Red Lake Reservation in Minnesota, Bobby Houle is a third generation musician following in the footsteps of his grandfather who is in the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Bobby comes by his "blues" honestly growing up on the reservation, being legally blind from birth and having done some hard time in prison.
