Porkchop "Texas-Style"

Blues at Renegades in Burnsville

Saturday (Feb.2nd) was a fun night at Renegades for folks who like their blues Texas-style. Kurt Schwarz (guitar and vocals), Dan Mansur (bass and vocals) and Mark Bond (drums and vocals) of Porkchop kept a considerable number of fans happy and dancing to their high intensity music. Particularly noteworthy were covers of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Mary Had A Little Lamb," Mack Rice's "Mustang Sally," and Porkchop's own "Get Up."

Every Monday evening starting about 7:30pm at the Eagles Club, 25th St E and 25th Ave S in Minneapolis, is a Blues jam hosted by Willie Murphy and John Beach and either Doug James or Hye Pockets (except the first Monday of the month). Free - all musicians and spectators are welcomed and encouraged to come out!!! Free Beautiful venue, friendly people - the new home of the Viking jam that ran for so many years.

Willie Murphy is this year's Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame selection for "Blues Performer". This is a great opportunity see or to jam with a legendary local bluesman on a regular basis.
