As part of their "3rd Saturday Showcase" series, The Riverview Cafe is presenting Papa John Kolstad and Clint Hoover in concert on Saturday, Feb. 16th at 8 pm.

Wednesday & Sunday Dinner Gig
Billing himself as "Still the world's only, multi-award winning, one-hooked keyboardist", Mike 'The Hook' Deutsch will be playing Wednesday's and Sunday's at 6:30 pm at the Red Stag Supper Club
The Red Stag Supper Club is a relatively new addition to the Minneapolis restaurant scene. For those who are interested in such things, the Red Stag is the first restaurant to be LEED certified. "The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performances in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality."

R&B Horn Band "Prior Avenue"
Debuts at MMC on Thursday, Jan 24th
Strictly speaking, Prior Avenue is not a blues band. But, hey, when was the last time you heard a live band with a four-piece horn section? The eight-member band consists of Missy Carlson lead vocal, Nick Bunio trumpet/vocals, Nathan Berry trombone/vocals, Owen Tucker alto sax/vocals, Aaron Hammerman tenor/baritone sax, Jared Anderson bass, Jesse Mueller on keyboards and Sean McGee guitar/vocals.

Helps With GOOT at Eagles

This is actually a late entry into the 2007 Discoveries, but I thought we should give some recognition to Code Sweat for their participation in the Get Out of Town Fund Raiser that was held at the Eagles Club on December 18, 2007 to help send Cadillac & the Flats and Cornbread Harris to Memphis the end of January 2008
Nicky Lewis
Little Willie Taylor provided vocals. Taylor sang in a band with Wilbur Cole and Jo Jo Williams in the 1960's. Nicky Lewis played the Strat, Bill Weeding played rhythm guitar, Andre Gilmore was on bass and Tsoch Devin was the drummer.
Code Sweat plays a mix of straight-up blues, rhythm & blues with a little bit of Jimi Hendrix thrown in courtesy of Nicky Lewis. Thanks again to the band for helping to make the GOOT event a success.
