Not Just For Movies Anymore

Thunderheads Headline New Year's Eve Party

Joe Senkyr Minjares lastest ambitious project is the acquisition and restoration/remodeling of the old Parkway Theater adjoining Pepito's Restaurant at 4814 Chicago Avenue South in Minneapolis. Along with extensive work on the exterior facade and the interior of this 1930's theater; the sound, projection equipment and screen have been updated. Additionally, the theater is available for rental to host various events including musical concerts.

Thunderheads

Thunderheads will perform a New Year's Eve concert at Parkway Theater in support of their CD, Can't Stop Time. The band draws their musical inspiration from "an eclectic mix of rock, prog rock, folk-rock, blues and jazz-rock, with extended jams sometimes thrown in" according to lead-guitarist, Steve Blexrud.

McMahon's Irish Pub Featuring Blues

Former Poodle Club Offers Pub Fare & Live Music

Saturday at McMahon's Irish Pub.

Dominic McMahon has taken over the old Poodle Club at 3001 East Lake St in Minneapolis and transformed it into an Irish pub. The newly remodeled establishment features Fish & Chips, Pulled Pork Sandwichs, Chili Con Carne, Steak & Ale, Sackville Street Chicken, Portrush Pork, White Chocolate Cheesecake and of course you can wash that down with a pint of Guinness.

Live Blues music is scheduled for Wednesdays, the White Sidewalls on Thursdays, The Butanes on Fridays, Open Mic Night with Big Bob Scoggins on Sundays. This Saturday, Dec. 8th, The Brothers Curtis will take the stage at 9 pm.

Flood Relief

Blues Benefit Concert For Flood Relief

Friday, Nov 23rd in Rochester with T. Albert Lloyd

A benefit concert for SE Minnesota flood victims will be held at Peace United Church of Christ, 1503 2nd Avenue NE in Rochester, MN on Friday, November 23rd starting at 4 pm.

T. Albert Lloyd, Doghouse John and the Misbehavers and the Dave Lambert Band provide the entertainment. John Hardy's BBQ provides the food, which is included in the $10 admission. For more information call Gary Eckhart 507-282-2795 or Carol Neumann 651-292-8352.

It was so much fun last year they decided to do it again. Celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of the release of Cyn Collins book, West Bank Boogie, Jackson's Juke Joint will host West Bank Boogie Redux at the 331 Club beginning at 7 pm. on Wednesday, November 21st. Featured artists include Bill Hinkley & Judy Larson, Pop Wagner and Dakota Dave Hull, Papa John Kolstad and Clint Hoover, and The Front Porch Swinging Liquor Pigs.
