Local Blues Bands Join Savoy Brown Band

After a year's absence due to a devasting fire in 2006 at Bailey Ray's Roadhouse in Santiago, MN, the Santiago Shakedown (formerly the Upper Mississippi Shakedown) returns in 2007 featuring the legendary Savoy Brown Blues Band with founder Kim Simmonds.

Along with Savoy Brown, the Shakedown will feature the Lamont Cranston Blues Band, Big George Jackson, Everett Smithson Band, Reverend Raven & the Chain Smokin' Altar Boys and newcomer Emily Graham. There will also be a Friday night pre-fest party with the J.G. Lightborne Band from Wasau, WI. 6 bands, $20 advance, $25 at the gate. D'Amico's Brings the Blues To Grand Old Day

Big Walter Smith and Scottie Miller Featured Acts

This year's Grand Old Day celebration will be held on Sun., June 3rd, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Big Walter Smith and the Groove Merchants, and Scottie Miller will be playing at D'Amico's (Grand and Chatsworth) from noon-5pm. For more info about Grand Old Day, go to www.grandave.com.

Joe T. Cook & The Longshots Reunion

Memorial Day at Neumann's

Joe T. Cook will be back in town for two gigs with The Longshots during Memorial Day week. On Memorial Day, May 28th 6-10 pm., the band will be appearing at Neumann's Bar; 2531 E. 7th Ave, North St Paul. On Thursday, May 31st they will be on stage at Whiskey Junction from 9 pm. to midnight.

Mancini's Hosts Blues on Wednesdays

Swanee/Beach Trio Booked Through Sept.

West 7th St welcomes the Blues this summer. Mancini's Char House, 531 W. 7th St, St. Paul; will feature the Swanee/Beach Trio from 7:30 to 11:30 pm. on Wednesdays now until September.
