[Lazy Bill Lucas] [Road To Memphis]

Of Note

We are currently planning our next event for June 22, 2003, at Neumann's Bar in North St. Paul from 6-11 PM. The theme of this event is The Beach Party and we will be celebrating John Beach and Greg Beach. This event will include a display area, interviews of Greg and John on video, and music. We hope to have a few GTCBMS beach towels for sale as a fundraiser. Our board will be issuing more information on this event soon.

Friday, Feb. 28th Dixies is proud to feature Morris Wilson & Hip Struttin' Blues featuring Charles (El Chako the Great) Andre on Vocals. The band starts at 9:00pm and as always there is NO COVER!

The Greater Twin Cities Blues Music Society held their first annual membership meeting at Dusty's Bar on Thursday evening, December 5, 2002, at 6:00 PM. The location is 1319 Marshall Street N.E., just up the street from the Historic Landmark Grain Belt Brew House. (Dusty's is home of the Best Meat Raffle. www.citypages.com/2002-05-01/news/best-of-the-twin-cities-the-winners/)

After the meeting attendees were treated to music by an up-and-coming acoustic blues player, Lonesome Dan Kase. Get acquainted with Dan by checking out his website www.lonesomedan.com.

The Society is also making plans for the International Blues Contest (IBC) to be held in Memphis early February, 2004. We want to sponsor a local musician(s) in the solo/duo category at the 2004 IBC, so we have started the plans to schedule a music recital for next year. We will select the 2004 contestant(s) from the participants at the recital. Stay tuned for more on this! If you play acoustic blues and you think this might interest you, please contact the GTCBMS.
