Get Out Of Town Fund Raisers

Bands competing at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN are not compensated for their performances or travel expenses to and from the competition. By holding "GOOT" Fund Raising events, the acts can collect tax-deductible donations through the Greater Twin Cities Blues Music Society to reimburse their travel-related expenses to the IBC competition.

Band To Compete at International Blues Challenge in January 2010
Brandon Scott Sellner prevailed in a close competition held at the Minnesota Music Cafe on Sunday, April 26th with five other local blues bands to earn the right to represent Minnesota in the "Band" category at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. this coming January 20-23, 2010. The other participating bands were Curtis Marlatt and the Kicks, The Dee Miller Band, Little Bobby & the Storm, The Swamp Kings and Sweet Paulie T & the BluesBlasters. The task was difficult for the judges with all of the bands performing polished and energetic sets. The 25-minute sets were barely enough to tease the audience with a peek at how talented these bands really are. I would encourage you to check the links to the band names above to find out where these folks are playing to experience a complete performance by these local acts. Tax-deductible donations are being accepted for the "Get Out Of Town Fund" to help the winning act offset travel related expenses for the trip to Memphis in January 2010.
