The Road to Memphis for Bands was held at Floyd's Bar this past June. Rockin' Daddy & the Rough Cuts were chosen from six bands to represent the Society in Memphis, February 3-5, 2005, during the Blues Foundation's 21st International Blues Challenge. A huge thank you to all who volunteered and participated in the Road to Memphis for Bands. Judges included Paul Jaszczak (blues fan), Dave Lawrence (Coffee Grounds owner), Larry England (KFAI DJ), Corey Rae White (producer, musician and instructor at American Guitar Boutique), Doug Shoop (Dark Waters Entertainment), Clay Moore (musician and instructor at MusicTech College), and Pat Casello (music fan). Other volunteers include Christina Marlatt, Tom Asp, Shannon Hebert, Tom ????? (you took photos on June 20th!!), Mary Kay & Gregg Harcus, and Floyd's Bar owner Lois Plocher.

The acts were judged in 5 categories: 1) blues content, 2) originality, 3) talent, 4) stage presence and 5) overall impression.
